When I new what I know now, I would have bought the Canon for double the price. Sigma sounds great, but is not reliable. It is not 100% compatible. Error Strings without reason! The operating manual is ridiculous (very) short. Even my flash photo instructor could not figure out. At least Canon has a book! If you are short on money and need a flash to buy a sound. I have the Canon Speedlite 580EX II on the recommendation of the father of a friend. I got 420 (because it is cheaper), but he told me to go with the best. I did it, and I love it. My paintings glow. I am a beginner, so I’m still getting used to. But when I’m gone, while my thing, I usually look like a professional photographer with him over on to the internal flash.
